The tour is 4 days and 3 nights long, starting from your arrival in Cusco and ending with your departure back from the city. Specific dates and times will be provided at the time of booking.

We recommend packing light, breathable clothing, sturdy walking shoes, a hat, sunscreen, a rain jacket, and any personal medications. Since the trip involves various elevations and temperatures, layering your clothing is a good idea. Don't forget your camera to capture the incredible scenery!

The Lost City Expedition is suitable for most travelers, including families with older children (12+). The trip includes some hiking and walking, so it’s recommended for active children who are excited about adventure and history. For younger children, consider the physical requirements of the trip.

While the tour does involve walking and some light hiking, it is suitable for travelers with an average level of fitness. Cusco's altitude can be challenging, so we recommend taking it easy on the first day to acclimate. If you're concerned about your fitness level, we suggest consulting with a healthcare provider before booking.

Accommodations include comfortable, well-located hotels with modern amenities. In Cusco, you'll stay in charming, boutique-style hotels, and in Aguas Calientes (at the foot of Machu Picchu), you’ll enjoy a cozy stay. All accommodations are chosen for their quality and proximity to the sites.

Most meals, including breakfast and some lunches and dinners, are included. Meals are a mix of local Peruvian cuisine and international options to suit all dietary preferences. Special dietary requirements can usually be accommodated with prior notice.

The journey from Cusco to Machu Picchu is made by train, which departs from Ollantaytambo and takes you through the beautiful Sacred Valley landscape to Aguas Calientes, the town at the base of Machu Picchu. From Aguas Calientes, a short bus ride takes you up to the Machu Picchu entrance.

The best time to visit is during the dry season, from May to September. This period offers clear skies and mild weather, perfect for hiking and exploring. The rainy season runs from November to March, but even then, the landscape is lush and green, with fewer crowds.

Cancellation policies are in place to protect both the traveler and the tour operator. If you cancel more than 60 days in advance, you’ll receive a full refund (minus the registration deposit).
